Nishi-Awa Fireworks takes a unique spin on skylit bursts every autumn along the picture-perfect Yoshino River, bordering Kagawa Prefecture at Tokushima Prefecture’s Western Health and Disaster Prevention Park in Mima City and Miyoshi City.
Rather than simply showcasing fireworks, this event is a competition highlighting craftsmanship, artistry, and technical innovation.
Renowned pyrotech’s from Japan’s far and near regions gather in Tokushima to reveal their spectacular displays with unrivaled quality and creativity.
Highlights include large-scale competitive fireworks (shakudama) presented by award-winning pyrotechnicians recognized by the Prime Minister’s Prize, as well as intricately choreographed "Music Starmines" synchronized precisely (down to 1/30th of a second) with music, extending as wide as 330 meters. Other features include "Message Fireworks," creating a dazzling show across the autumn sky above the Yoshino River.
All viewing areas require paid reserved seating (no free viewing areas are available). Due to anticipated crowds, walking from nearby stations is recommended.
