Located in southern Kyoto Prefecture, Wazuka is known as one of the main production areas of Uji tea, accounting for Approx. half of the prefecture’s tea production. Its beautiful tea field landscapes, preserved since the Kamakura period, are stunning and were registered as Kyoto Prefecture Scenic Asset No. 1. Surrounded by abundant nature, the town’s peaceful atmosphere warmly welcomes visitors.

Tourist spots are scattered throughout the town, including Ishidera Tea Fields, the most famous site in Wazuka and often used in promotional materials, and Shibarahara Tea Fields, where rows of tea bushes stretch across the steep slopes like a patchwork. There are also cafes and sweet shops where you can enjoy Wazuka tea, making it easy to relax and soak up the charm of this tea-producing village.

Experiences are also available, including the Chagenkyo Private Petit Tour, where a guide introduces the charms of Wazuka while leading visitors to scenic viewpoints over Approx. 1.5 hours (reservation required at least 2 days in advance / fee required).
