Shiratama no Yu Senkei
A soothing retreat where emerald-green hot springs and creative kaiseki cuisine made with local ingredients bring total relaxation.
This ryokan has its own hot spring source, drawing from the independently excavated “Shiratama no Yu.” You can enjoy the vivid emerald-green waters, ranked among the highest in Japan for sulfur content, in the large public bath and open-air bath. Inside, the inn features a tasteful blend of Japanese and Western design, with carefully curated spaces from the lobby and guest rooms to the stone garden.
The open-air bath, fed by the inn’s prized private hot spring source, is especially appealing for the seasonal beauty that spreads across the garden. The large public bath is an open, glass-walled space and boasts one of the largest bath areas on the Sea of Japan side of the country. There are also four types of guest rooms with open-air baths, perfect for a relaxing soak in a private setting.
Creative kaiseki meals made with seafood and mountain delicacies from the Sea of Japan region are available. At Echigo Ryotei “Shunkira,” you can dine in a modern space with an open kitchen, while Echigo Dining “Toki” serves beautifully presented dishes in a dining room beside the garden. Breakfast is served buffet-style with both Japanese and Western options, and the inn’s specialty mochi buffet is also popular.
