The Mt. Mantoro Observatory sits atop Mt. Omine in Ide Town, Kyoto Prefecture, at an elevation of about 300 meters. Access to the observatory is available by car, or on foot from JR Yamashiro-Taga Station, with a well-maintained hiking trail that takes about 60 minutes to reach the summit. The observatory also features two gazebos, making it a perfect spot to rest during a hike.
