Parc Avenue Kawatoku

Founded in 1866, this long-established department store has a history of over 150 years. Located in central Morioka, Iwate Prefecture, it continues to serve the community as the city's only department store. From the basement level to the 8th floor, it carries high-quality brands and local products from within and outside the prefecture, including fashion, household goods, food, cosmetics, and traditional crafts.

There is also a wide selection of local Iwate foods and sweets, local sake, and craft items, making it a great place to shop for souvenirs unique to Iwate. The food floor also has plenty of corners where visitors can sample and buy local specialties. Special event spaces host product fairs and seasonal events, so there is always something new to discover.

On the 8th-floor rooftop, the fully artificial-turf space "SORABA" has reopened after renovation. It is a great place to bring food purchased from the food floor for a picnic or just relax. Other events such as workshops are also held there.
