APA Resort Joetsu Myoko Observatory

Visit a romantic lovers’ sanctuary with sweeping views of famous peaks.

Last update :

Located at an elevation of Approx. 600 meters, this observatory is known for its panoramic views of famous peaks such as Mt. Myoko and Mt. Hiuchi. Heart-shaped monuments and love padlocks line the grounds, and in 2011 it was selected as the first “Lovers’ Sanctuary Satellite” in the Joetsu area, drawing many couples for commemorative photos and wish-making. A walking path of about 10 minutes leads to the observatory, where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll in the refreshing highland breeze while taking in nature.

The observatory is located within the grounds of APA Resort Joetsu Myoko and can be enjoyed even if you are not staying overnight. The infinity pool and barrel sauna, introduced in 2024, are also available for day use with advance reservation. Spending time in the open-air setting while gazing at the water reflecting Mt. Myoko is truly special. Another appealing point is that the experience changes between the pool season and the sauna season.

There are also activities such as a putter golf course, a lawn plaza, and a kids’ tire playground, making it popular with families as well. You can also use the large public bath and dine at the restaurant, making it easy to refresh in the midst of nature.
