Yaizu Sakana Center in Yaizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, is celebrating its 40th anniversary. This wholesale seafood market brings together fresh catches from nearby waters. It mainly sells seafood landed at Yaizu Port, known for its large tuna catch volume, as well as catches from Yaizu Port, Kogawa Port, and Oigawa Port. Around 60 shops line the facility. In addition to seafood, you’ll also find tea, dried foods, tsukudani, and Shizuoka sweets.
Located immediately to the left after entering the gate, Daishokudo Nagisa is a popular place to eat. It is known as a Japanese restaurant serving fresh seafood unique to Yaizu. Popular menu items include the "12-Variety Premium Seafood Bowl," generously topped with seafood, and the "8-Variety Boat Platter Sashimi Set Meal," served with seafood arranged on a boat-shaped plate. The restaurant has 270 seats, including tables and tatami seating, and can accommodate everyone from small groups to tour groups.
Yaizu Sakana Center also has the Yaizu Tourist Information Center, so visitors can not only shop and dine but also use it as a convenient sightseeing base.
