A renowned ryokan set along the clear waters of the Arakawa River, in a soothing location blessed with abundant nature.
As you step onto the grounds, you’re first welcomed by a garden lining the approach to the entrance. There is also a 1,000-tsubo inner garden, whose refined beauty changes with the seasons and captivates visitors. At dusk, it is illuminated, letting you experience the light and fragrance of this mountain village setting.
After enjoying a stroll through the gardens and taking in the beauty of nature through the seasons, unwind in the inn’s famed hot springs. True to its nickname, “the inn devoted to hot springs,” it offers five bathing facilities in total, including open-air baths and indoor baths. The spring water, drawn from a plentiful source flowing at 230 liters per minute and blended with fresh spring water to create a comfortable bathing temperature, is a gentle simple hot spring that is kind to the skin. Soak while gazing out at spectacular scenery shaped by nature, including the Arakawa River and waterfalls, and enjoy a deeply rustic sense of relaxation.
Guest rooms come in a range of styles to suit different stays, including rooms with open-air baths, Japanese-style rooms, and Japanese-Western rooms. Each one features a calm, refined design and an extraordinary atmosphere with scenic views unfolding beyond the window.
Meals are prepared with plenty of seasonal ingredients from Fukushima Prefecture and carefully selected produce. Each dish, from the appetizer to the main course, is superb, with attention paid not only to flavor but also to color and delicate presentation.
