Seto Ohashi Memorial Park

A vast park with close-up views of the scenic island-dotted Seto Inland Sea.

Last update :

This vast park sits at the Kagawa-side foot of the Seto Ohashi Bridge, one of the world’s longest rail-road bridges spanning the Seto Inland Sea. Developed in 1988 to commemorate the bridge’s completion, the Approx. 22.5-hectare space is surrounded by greenery and water and features a lawn plaza, a water corridor, a children’s playground with large play equipment, ball game courts, and a target bird golf course. It is a popular place to relax and gather.

At the center of the park is the Seto Ohashi Memorial Museum, which can be entered free of charge and introduces the appeal of the Seto Ohashi Bridge in an easy-to-understand way through precise models, videos, and large photo panel displays covering the history of its construction and the bridge’s structure. From the observation deck, you can enjoy a close-up view of the Seto Ohashi Bridge. The Water Corridor is the main promenade, Approx. 25 m wide and Approx. 260 m long. Its paving stones represent the sea and islands of the Shiwaku Islands, while the Approx. 170 m-long fountains represent the suspension bridges and cable-stayed bridges of the Seto Ohashi Bridge.

Other facilities are scattered throughout the park, including “Hama Ritsurin,” inspired by the scenic Ritsurin Garden, “Marine Dome,” one of the largest wooden domes in Japan, and a roadside station, so you can enjoy spending the whole day here while taking in the beautiful island scenery of the Seto Inland Sea.
