Awaji International Hotel The Sunplaza

This hot spring ryokan stands along the coast of Sumoto on Awaji Island. Every guest room has an ocean view, and the 180-degree panoramic scenery, as if floating above the sea, is highly praised by guests.

The guest rooms are defined by different concepts on each floor, including their design and layout. The special sixth floor is built around the concept of “feeling the sound of the waves” and offers five room types, including Japanese-modern rooms and rooms with private hot spring baths. On the top floor, guests can enjoy a more refined level of luxury in spacious, high-quality surroundings. In addition to the large public bath and open-air bath, the hot spring area also features three private baths, each with its own character, and a new facility opened in 2023. The relaxing experience is even more complete with an open-air observation bath where you can feel the fresh sea breeze and one of the largest nature saunas in the Kansai region, where you can also enjoy loyly and kugel.

The kaiseki dinner makes generous use of ingredients from Awaji Island, including spiny lobster, abalone, and Awaji beef. Seasonal plans are also available, featuring pike conger in summer and fugu in winter.
