Oshu Hiraizumi Onsen Soba-an Shizukatei

This hot spring inn in Hiraizumi is surrounded by the tranquil countryside and offers convenient access to attractions such as Chuson-ji Temple and Motsu-ji Temple. The rustic open-air bath and newly built large public bath feature free-flowing natural hot spring water drawn from 500 m underground, rich in carbonate ions and radon said to benefit the skin.

Dinner is a creative Japanese set meal featuring seasonal local ingredients, including Iwate’s Maesawa Beef. The meal concludes with exceptional freshly made and cooked soba noodles, the inn’s signature dish and a specialty of the owner. Breakfast, prepared with plenty of fresh vegetables picked that morning from the inn’s garden, is also popular.
