    There are several routes along the Kumano Kodo. The Nakahechi route from Hosshinmon-oji to Kumano Hongu Taisha is pretty flat and easy to walk. You can finish it in just half a day.

    Walking the ancient Kumano Kodo trail was really comfortable and not as tough as I expected. Restrooms are available and very clean along the way. The whole journey was fantastic!

    While walking along the Kumano Kodo, I came across lots of places called 'Oji.' Apparently, these were rest spots for the imperial family and nobles who used to come here to visit the shrines.
