Nara Palace Site Historical Park

The remains of the capital were built about 1,300 years ago. It is one of Japan's representative historical and cultural heritages, registered as a World Heritage Site, and is currently being developed into a national park using the historic site.

It's completely deserted and not easy to get to! I wouldn't recommend it.

Aside from the main hall, most of the site is still under construction—it's mostly just bare earth. There's not much to see, so I wouldn't recommend visiting.
