These castle ruins are located on the 232.5m-high Mt. Sawa, north of JR Hikone Station. Ishida Mitsunari became the lord in 1595.

The hiking trail isn't well maintained, so it's pretty tough to walk. The signs aren't clear either, so you'll need a bit of an adventurous spirit to come here.
