Riding the Akita Inland Railway is a soothing train journey filled with beautiful scenery! At the platform, you're greeted by an adorable Crayon Shin-chan Family City photo board that brings out your inner child before you even board. Inside the train, the ceiling is covered with cute photos of Akita dogs, with warm and thoughtful touches everywhere.

As the train slowly moves along, vast green rice fields and mist-shrouded mountains unfold outside the windows, offering sweeping views of gorgeous countryside scenery. Whether you enjoy locally themed decorated trains or want to slow down and admire the natural scenery of northeastern Japan, the Akita Inland Line is definitely a classic experience not to be missed!

Hopping on the train with the Tamatebako bento service was such a joy!

At every stop, they bring you local ingredients—it feels like you’re tasting the care of the land the whole way.

That rich, home-cooked “farm mom” flavor isn’t just delicious; it feels like a series of connected stories, filling the ride with warmth and little surprises.

The scenery along the way is absolutely beautiful—no wonder this is called one of the most scenic railway routes in Japan. There’s even a cart selling snacks and Akita specialties on board, so you never get bored. The rice paddy art is especially cool, and the view from inside the train is the best angle to see it.
