This ancient shrine has a history of more than 1,100 years and is also said to be where the famous Sengoku-period warrior Sanada Yukimura met his end. The shrine is a little hidden away and isn’t an especially busy tourist attraction, which gives it a peaceful atmosphere. Inside, you can see a statue and monument dedicated to Sanada Yukimura. It’s highly recommended for anyone interested in Japan’s Sengoku-period history or the warrior Sanada Yukimura.

You don’t need to set aside too much time. About 1 hour is enough to look around at a leisurely pace and take in the shrine’s history. You can also combine it with a visit to the nearby Tennoji Zoo, stopping by attractions with different styles along the way and adding a little more historical and cultural depth to your independent trip to Osaka!
