If you come to Shiga Kogen, I highly recommend spending at least one day skiing at Yakebitaiyama. The runs are long, the snow quality is good, and the forest scenery is beautiful. However, there are more intermediate and advanced runs, so complete beginners may feel there aren't as many options, but experienced skiers can have a great time here!

People who really love skiing will probably love Yakebitaiyama. The snow quality is good, and the runs are long enough that you can take the gondola up and ski all the way down. The runs winding through the conifer forest are especially beautiful, and when the weather is good, skiing while taking in the mountain views is truly enjoyable.

The slopes here are really appealing. Not only is the snow quality great, but the scenery is top-notch too. After taking the gondola up the mountain and seeing the whole snowy landscape, I was in such a great mood. Skiing down was even more fun, and it made me want to go again and again.

The snow quality was great with lots of powder. Even though it was really windy and snowy that day, it actually made the conditions even better.

There are plenty of lifts, and getting around is fairly smooth, so it’s great for people who want to try a variety of runs.

The only downside is that the area is so big. If it’s your first time, it’s better to study the map before heading up.

A beautiful spot and definitely worth a visit.

Since it's an Olympic venue, skiing here feels extra special—almost like you're in a competition! It's less crowded than some of the more popular resorts, so it's more comfortable and you hardly ever have to wait in line.
