    Both the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and the Onaruto Bridge are feats of engineering. You can actually walk under the Onaruto Bridge, and it's also a fantastic spot to see the whirlpools.

    The Onaruto Bridge connects Shikoku and Awaji Island. It has two levels—the upper level is for regular vehicles, and the lower level was originally designed for the Shinkansen but was later turned into the Uzunomichi walkway. It's the best spot to see the Naruto whirlpools.

    There are several transparent glass panels on the whirlpool walkway, so you can look straight down at the whirlpools. It's a pretty unique experience.
