Amanohashidate Kasamatsu Park
Located in Miyazu City, Kyoto Prefecture, Amanohashidate Kasamatsu Park is a breathtaking viewpoint that overlooks Amanohashidate, one of Japan's Three Scenic Views. Situated on the slopes of Mt. Nariai at an altitude of 130 meters, the park is easily accessible via the Amanohashidate Cable Car or lift from Fuchu Station.
What impressed me most on this visit to Amanohashidate Kasamatsu Park was the moment I stepped onto the observation deck. The view in front of me was truly different from what you see in photos. It wasn’t until I saw Amanohashidate with my own eyes—known as the “Flying Dragon View”—that I understood why this place is so famous. Riding the cable car slowly up the mountain was very relaxing, with lovely scenery along the way. At the top, the air was fresh and naturally made me slow down.
Even though there were quite a few visitors that day, the overall environment was very well maintained, so it never felt crowded or overwhelming. I especially enjoyed sitting in the viewing area, feeling the breeze, and looking out at the bay and mountains in the distance. It felt like all the stress I’d built up in everyday life was just swept away. Amanohashidate Kasamatsu Park is more than just a photo spot—it’s a place where you can truly slow down and appreciate the beauty of nature. If I get the chance to travel to northern Kyoto again, I would definitely want to come back.
