Kishimojindo Temple
This temple enshrines Kishimojin, the goddess of safe childbirth and child-rearing. The avenue of zelkova trees along the approach from Kishibojimmae Stop is designated a Natural Monument of Tokyo. Don't miss the giant ginkgo tree on the grounds, said to be about 700 years old. The grounds are also home to Kamikawaguchiya, a historic traditional candy shop.
Located in a quiet residential area, the path to the shrine is lined with lush, tall trees. Inside, there's also a massive sacred tree that's been standing for six hundred years. This shrine is known for prayers for the safety of mothers and unborn children. The atmosphere is very peaceful and harmonious, and the little traditional shops have a lot of charm.
