It was really pretty interesting~ The whole place isn’t very big, but it’s fun to walk around, and the guide was really engaging. It gave me a much better idea of how miso is made.
The best part was the tasting at the end and the gift shop area. The miso soup smelled amazing and wasn’t overly salty, and there were lots of limited-edition flavors to buy.
The overall atmosphere was relaxed with a slightly nostalgic feel. If you like Japanese seasonings, you’ll probably really enjoy this place.

Canal City Hakata is such a great place to hang out! There’s everything inside—food, shopping, even movies! The design is really unique, and there’s a fountain show to watch, too. You could easily spend the whole day here and never get bored.
