Asahiyama Park
A lush, green park at the foot of Mt. Asahi, located in eastern Asahikawa, Hokkaido. It sits at an elevation of Approx. 295 m, and from inside the park you can take in sweeping views of downtown Asahikawa and the surrounding mountains. It’s also known for its well-preserved natural woodland. In spring, Approx. 3,500 Ezo-yamazakura cherry trees burst into bloom, making it a popular cherry-blossom viewing spot that draws big crowds.
Not many people, so it’s really comfortable to walk around.
On a nice day the views are pretty great. Perfect for a quiet stroll and just zoning out.
It’s not a lively, bustling spot, but it feels super relaxing and healing.

Lake Tanuki
Lake Tanuki spreads out in a corner of the Asagiri Plateau on the majestic western foot of Mt. Fuji in Fujinomiya City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Located at an elevation of Approx. 650 m, it has a calm water surface with a circumference of 3.3 km. Because the lake is shallow and the winds are gentle, it is known as a famous spot for "upside-down Mt. Fuji," where Mt. Fuji is reflected on the lake surface, and for Approx. one week around April 20 and around August 20, you can also see Diamond Fuji.
When the weather is nice, you can see a stunning reflection of Mt. Fuji on the lake. It’s really soothing. The lake isn’t very big, so walking all the way around it at a relaxed pace isn’t too tiring. Great for a peaceful stroll and clearing your mind.
Early morning and around sunset are the most beautiful times, and there tend to be fewer people then.
Overall, it’s very quiet and natural. There aren’t many shops around—it’s just the kind of place where you enjoy the scenery and leave feeling better.

Katsurahama Aquarium
Located on the shores of the iconic Katsurahama Beach in Kochi Prefecture, this aquarium offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. Popular among all age groups, it provides numerous interactive feeding experiences, allowing visitors to observe and learn about marine life up close, engaging all the senses.
It’s a super relaxed place to walk around—no crowds at all. The animals are really close to the visitors, so kids will love it. The whole place feels kind of simple and a bit old-fashioned, but that actually gives it a nice local vibe. It’s perfect to stop by while taking a stroll around Katsurahama.
