Stroll around the quaint town
Benzaiten Nakamise Dori is everyone’s favorite place to go, not only on holidays but also on weekdays. Evening hours will let you relax more.

Impressive Enoshima Cruising which refreshes your spirit
Marine cruises are a popular Enoshima amusement. Different companies offer various courses, such as the short course around the island or a course to take you over to Kamakura Area. Everyone’s favorite is the Sunset Cruising to let you watch the setting sun from the ocean that gives you a different look from the land view. It is worth a try.

Lanterns and graphic art in light brightens the night
The annual light-up event you can drop in during your evening stroll. Enoshima Toro is held between late July and August 31. The main stage is Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden with tropical plants, and nearly 1000 lanterns dot Enoshima Shrine, Oiwayado Street and other spots all over the island. Some of them have lighted graphic art designed by the top space artists. The Enoshima Engi story is recreated with lanterns with shadow pictures. It is so fascinating to see all the art.

Ryuko-ji’s bamboo lanterns, begun in 2010, is now a summer event in the Enoshima area. The grounds of this Nichiren Sect’s ancient temple are covered with almost 4000 lanterns in bamboo cages at dusk. Nio-mon gate and five-layered pagoda are lit up with the quiet candle lights. People forget time and stare at the mystic sight which seems to be out of this world.
