Park

Kitayama Park has been selected as one of the New 100 Views of Tokyo.
例年6月上旬には約300種、10万本もの花菖蒲が咲き、「東村山菖蒲まつり」が開かれる。
Every year in early June around 100,000 flowers across around 300 varieties begin to bloom. It is at this time that the Higashimurayama Festival is held.
During the Higashimurayama Festival, various events are held to entertain visitors, including dances and nighttime illuminations.
In addition to beautiful irises, the park features a variety of seasonal flowers, such as cherry blossoms, hydrangeas, lotuses, and cosmos. Wild birds flock to the park’s pond as well, so bird watching is another activity for park-goers to enjoy.
