Kurashiki Ivy Square

A trendy tourism complex in red brick buildings covered with ivy

3.63 2

Tourism complex

The main factory of the Kurashiki Spinning Mill, founded in 1889, has been turned into a tourism and cultural complex, the Kurashiki Ivy Square. The facility is a reproduction of a British factory. The replicated red brick buildings with lush green ivy vine presents a classical but modern atmosphere.

Adjoining in the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter is a complex containing accommodation facilities, a restaurant and banquet hall; as well as a craft workshop, a history museum, and shops that sell local specialties and souvenirs.

At the large open courtyard, an expansive area of 1400㎡, soothing music plays using the speaker tubes arranged in the rain drainage ditches. In the evening, soft light creates a fantasy-like mood.
