Kaneshichi Suisan always offers only seasonal fish, the brightness of color proving its freshness. Springtime begins with snapper and bonito from the nearby ports of Kamogawa and Emi, while in the summer sea bass and abalone are sold, directly shipped from the port. In fall, they provide fresh saury in the peak season caught off the coast of Choshi, and choice Ise lobsters in one of the highest numbers in Japan, as well as the king of winter fish, "winter flounder."

A dining space is also available at the shop. Their variety of high-quality fish continues coming up on social media. The restaurant’s signature menu is the sashimi set (1,500 yen and up) and the sea urchin and salmon roe set meal (2,500 yen) served in a wooden box. Many more delicious dishes are available at reasonable prices that would be impossible to find in central Tokyo, making everyone fascinated.

One of the most recommended dishes here is the Oragadon Mago Chazuke (1,320 yen). Mago-chazuke is a local dish that has long been eaten on the Boso Peninsula, including in Kamogawa City, where the restaurant is located. Small-chopped fresh fish is marinated in soy sauce, miso, or other seasonings, topped with rice, and served with broth. There are several theories as to the origin of the name, including that it was taken from "a delicious dish that you want your grandchildren(mago) to eat," or "it can be eaten in a hurry without fussing (magomago).” It is also delicious to enjoy chazuke (pouring broth on the whole dish) from the beginning, but the best way is enjoy it just as seafood with rice in the first half of the meal and chazuke style in the second half! Try the fisherman's meal that has been popular with the locals since the old days.
