Miyakojima Underwater Park

A facility for observing the sea at a depth of about 4 meters.

Last update :

Located about 25 minutes by car from Miyako Airport on the northern side of the island, Miyakojima Underwater Park is a tourist spot facing the clear and transparent waters of Miyakojima. It features an underwater observation facility where you can observe fish living in Miyakojima's seas in their natural state. The observation space, spread across the sea floor at a depth of about 4 meters, spans 29.6 meters in width, 5 meters in depth, and covers an area of about 150 square meters. Through 24 acrylic panels, each 1.5 meters in height, 50 cm in width, and 12 cm in thickness, visitors can closely observe colorful tropical fish, octopuses, sea snakes, and occasionally sea turtles. Guides are also stationed inside the facility to provide information about the day's marine conditions, types of fish visible, and an overview of the observation facility.

In addition to the underwater observation area, the park includes a souvenir shop, a workshop corner for creating accessories with coral and seashells, and a cafe. At the cafe, which offers a close-up view of the beautiful sea, you can enjoy dishes using local ingredients, such as poke bowls with tuna from the waters near Miyakojima and dishes featuring Miyako beef, as well as desserts made with Miyakojima mangoes.
