Nagasaki Naigai Club Restaurant

A British-style Meiji Western building on Dejima, now a restaurant.

Last update :

A restaurant inside Dejima, a nationally designated historic site. Dine in the historic Meiji-era building, the former Nagasaki Naigai Club, and enjoy Western-style dishes and sweets with ties to Nagasaki. The classic building is a British-style Meiji Western structure built in 1903. It once housed the Nagasaki Naigai Club, founded as a place for friendship and exchange between foreign residents in Nagasaki and Japanese locals.

The most popular lunch item is Nagasaki’s famous Turkish Rice, a one-plate dish with pilaf, tonkatsu, and Napolitan spaghetti. The tonkatsu is made with Nagasaki pork, and the pilaf is shaped like Dejima. Other Nagasaki-style Western dishes include curry rice made with local vegetables and meat, and Dutch-style meatballs called “Gehaktballen.” At tea time, enjoy sweets and drinks such as Nagasaki Milkshake, Dutch-style waffles, and cheesecake.

At dinner, set courses are served. Dinner is by reservation only (from 6 people).
