Hayashida Senbei
A long-running shop selling 30+ kinds of handmade senbei daily.
This senbei (rice cracker) shop sits on the approach leading from Narita Station to Naritasan Shinshoji Temple. Founded in 1912, it’s been loved for generations as one of Narita’s most established senbei shops. The storefront is lined with 30+ kinds of handmade senbei, including the signature “Fukumimi Kaki Mochi”. Along with bagged options for souvenirs, the single-stick “Kushi-sen” is also a favorite for eating on the go.
The dough is made with carefully selected Japanese-grown rice and handmade in the shop every morning. Taking the day’s weather into account, skilled makers craft each batch with meticulous care. It’s also fun to watch the shaping machine at work out front.
One of Hayashida’s biggest draws is its wide variety of flavors. Along with classic soy sauce, you’ll find options like green onion miso, ichimi chili, miso peanut, and plum sugar glaze—so many unique picks it’s hard to choose. Textures also range from light to extra crunchy, so try a few and find your favorite.
