Hachinohe Yatai Village Miroku Yokocho

A gourmet spot that opened in 2002 after the Shinkansen began service to Hachinohe City. Along a narrow alley, 26 small food stalls line up side by side and it’s always bustling. Now loved as a symbol of Hachinohe, it draws not only tourists but also many local regulars.

The food lineup is also diverse, from Hachinohe’s local specialties to charcoal-grilled dishes made with fresh seafood, oden, skewers, meat dishes, and bistro-style small plates. Another appeal is that it keeps evolving, with stall locations reshuffled and new shops joining once every three years. The entire area is also barrier-free, and it has set up a recycling system, showing an environmental commitment too.

Each stall is set up with one owner surrounded by eight customers. Designed to make conversation easy, it helps even first-time visitors connect with others. Chats with the unique owners flow naturally, and many say it’s a great way to experience Hachinohe’s warm hospitality.
