Last update :

A large morning market that is available every Sunday at Tatehana wharf. During the day, the wharf is quiet and simple. In the morning, there are 300 stores spanning across 800m. In the market, visitors can purchase fresh seafood, dried food, handmade dishes, and crafts.

The market features grilled fish, miso soup, and mackerel curry. Perfect for walking and eating. Regardless of time, the smell will lure you into buying dishes. You can also meet the market mascot character, “Ikadon”, who roams around in the morning.

The market opens every Sunday from March to December, starting at dawn and ends at 9am. During holidays, opening hours may differ, so check the website for more information. Make sure to dress warm in December or March, as the winds are chilly. On operating days, there will be a special bus that runs in the early morning headed from Hachinohe station, and Mutsu-Minato station. There is also a round-trip bus from the middle of Hachinohe.
