Matsue Vogel Park is a flower-and-bird-themed park located on the hillside overlooking Lake Shinji. This all-weather facility features four exhibition greenhouses and an observation deck, all connected by covered walkways—so visitors can enjoy the park comfortably, rain or shine.
At the heart of the park is the Center House, one of Japan’s largest greenhouses, covering around 8,000 square meters. Here, roughly 10,000 flowering plants—including begonias and fuchsias—bloom in full splendor year-round. The park is dotted with popular photo spots like the ever-romantic Chair of Happiness, or the Heart of Happiness, a large floral sculpture made of begonias.
The park houses over 20 species of owls in its warm, climate-controlled environment, along with tropical and exotic birds, waterfowl, and large flightless birds like emus. Expect a time for a wide range of bird-themed experiences, including dynamic flying shows featuring owls and eagles, adorable penguin parades, feeding sessions, and hands-on encounters like letting birds perch on your hand.
The observation deck at 53 meters up offers sweeping panoramic views of the park, Lake Shinji, and, on clear days, even Mount Daisen.
