Quietly perched on a hillside, exuding the atmosphere of a refined adult retreat, Gero Onsen Kaiseki-yado Suihouen prides itself on exceptional cuisine and privacy. Guests can savor the secluded ambiance while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding hot spring town and Mount Nakane, affectionately known as "Gero Fuji."

The inn offers 16 rooms spread across the main building and annex, with more than half featuring private open-air baths. Recently renovated in 2024, the rooms include luxurious suites with open-air baths designed in a sophisticated, modern Japanese style, as well as traditional Japanese-style rooms with timeless charm. Additional bathing options include a panoramic open-air bath overlooking "Gero Fuji," spacious communal baths, and two private baths—one each in the main and annex buildings.

Dinner is an exquisite Kaiseki meal featuring carefully selected seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, served either in a cozy, wood-accented dining space or in the comfort of your guest room. The ryokan also features a steakhouse styled after a traditional Japanese farmhouse, offering Italian-inspired courses highlighting premium Hida beef. Popular day-trip packages, including lunch or dinner at the steakhouse and access to the hot springs, are also available.
