Suimeikan is a renown traditional ryokan in Gero Onsen, one of the three best onsens in Japan, operating since 1932. There are four different style buildings along Hida River which runs through the center of the hot spring town. They are named Rinsen-kaku, Hisen-kaku, Sansui-kaku, Seiran-so. Guests can select a room style of their own choice from various types to fit to their travel style and taste.

Guests in any building can enjoy all three bath facilities; the Shimodame no Yu (Rinsen-kaku building) which is covered by Hinoki cypress trees; the Panorama view bath (Hisen-kaku) which overlooks the Gero town; the Noten-buro (Sansui-kaku) which is surrounded by beautiful forest and giant stones, seeming as if you are taking a bath in wild nature. Explore these distinct baths filled with Gero Onsen water which is famous for its beauty benefits.

You can dine at one of four restaurants with either French, Chinese, or Japanese cuisine, as well as being served in your own room in traditional Japanese Kaiseki style with seasonal ingredients.

Suimeikan offers many attractions presenting Japan’s rich culture such as the traditional Japanese garden, an authentic Noh stage Ishibashi no ma, an art gallery, and a tea room. In their organized ryokan tour, the owner guides guests through the hotel’s art collection, craftworks, Noh stage, and the banquet hall with 500 tatami mats (the tour may not operate everyday).

The ryokan features more in-house facilities, including a year-around hot spring swimming pool, fitness gym (extra charge), and beauty salon.
