Time's Place Saidaiji

Kintetsu Yamato-Saidaiji Station is served by trains bound for Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, and other destinations, and is used by not only commuters and students but also many travelers. Time's Place Saidaiji is an in-station shopping mall located inside the station.

The facility has a wide selection of shops selling takeout bento boxes, deli foods, and sweets. It also includes shops where you can enjoy Nara's local sake and Japanese whisky, restaurants that are easy to visit even on your own, as well as a drugstore and convenience store that are handy while traveling.

For waiting between trains or taking a break while shopping, the scenic dining space "VIEW TERRACE" is highly recommended. Its appeal lies in the open setting, where you can watch many different kinds of trains arriving and departing from the station, along with views stretching as far as Mt. Ikoma. What's more, if you step out onto the outdoor observation deck from here, you can also enjoy a dynamic view looking down at the intersecting tracks and passing trains up close. With menus from the attached craft beer restaurant and curry specialty shop, it has become a popular spot where you can relax and enjoy the scenery together.

Although the facility is located inside the ticket gates, if you purchase an admission ticket with shopping voucher from an automatic ticket machine, which refunds the cost of the admission ticket when you use shops inside the ticket gates, you can use the facility for two hours even if you are not taking the train.
