Totsukawa Onsen Hotel Subaru

Set in Totsukawa Village, Nara Prefecture, this onsen inn is surrounded by deep mountains and gorge scenery and is known for its 100% free-flowing hot spring water direct from the source. The natural hot spring water is neither heated nor diluted and is abundant in volume, while the open-air bath pairs the starry sky, moonlight, and the sound of the river to ease both body and mind. The on-site hot spring wellness facility, Hoshi no Yu, features a wide variety of bathing options, including an open-air bath, large public bath, indoor bath, and sauna, as well as a footbath and a hot spring pool that can be enjoyed year-round.

There are more than 25 guest rooms in total, including special rooms with cypress baths, Japanese-style rooms, and Western-style twin rooms. In spaces filled with the warmth of wood, guests can enjoy a peaceful stay. In the special rooms, guests can also enjoy free-flowing hot spring water in their private cypress bath.

Meals are seasonal kaiseki courses made with local mountain vegetables, river fish, and Yamato beef from Nara Prefecture. Each beautifully presented meal is filled with seasonal blessings and local flavors, sure to bring a smile with every bite. Other facilities include a cafe, banquet hall, karaoke room, and shop.
