This highland area stretches across Mount Chausuyama, Aichi Prefecture’s highest peak at 1,415 m. Set on the border with Nagano Prefecture and Approx. 2 hours by car from central Nagoya, it combines easy access with clear air and rich natural surroundings.

In spring, Approx. 400,000 moss phlox bloom in full glory on the “Shibazakura Hill.” The sight of six varieties in different colors and shapes, including pink, white, pale blue, and bluish purple, covering the mountainside is truly spectacular. In summer, surrounded by refreshing breezes and lush greenery, visitors can enjoy camping and barbecues in the cool climate, as well as experience nature through canoeing and cycling. In autumn, the entire mountain is wrapped in fall colors, and events such as imoni gatherings are also held. In winter, the ski resort opens, and both advanced skiers and beginners can enjoy playing in the snow with peace of mind.

Chausuyama Plateau is also known as a great spot for stargazing, with starry-sky events held once a month from April to November. At the starry-sky café “Tenkū,” enjoy a sky full of stars while listening to explanations from a stargazing guide.
