Michi-no-Eki Kume no Sato Farmer’s Restaurant Shokuyukan

Located along National Route 181 in Tsuyama, Okayama Prefecture, Farmer’s Restaurant Shokuyukan is attached to Michi-no-Eki Kume no Sato. With a farm-to-table focus, it serves dishes made with fresh local ingredients. It’s a great place to casually enjoy Tsuyama’s local cuisine during sightseeing or a drive.

The signature dish is Tsuyama’s famous horumon udon. It has the distinctive savory richness that only horumon can offer, with deep, full-bodied flavor. The restaurant also has a wide variety of dishes, including the miso katsu set meal made with local miso. After your meal, the handmade ice cream made with fruit and vegetables from local farms is especially popular. Unique flavors you can only find here include Janpy ice cream made with Kume’s specialty jumbo green pepper, as well as strawberry, blueberry, and plum.

The interior is spacious and has a calm atmosphere. At the adjacent farmers market, you can buy fresh vegetables and local specialties. Nearby, a giant 23-foot "mobile suit" is on display, making the area a notable sightseeing spot as well.
