A historic building preserving the residence of the Uchiyama family, once wealthy farmers in Etchu. Most of the structure is a classic large farmhouse estate from the Edo period, built in 1868, offering a glimpse into the lives of influential farming families of the time. Now open to the public as an annex of Toyama Kenminkaikan, it features many highlights, including three tea rooms, artworks donated by the Uchiyama family, and exhibits of folk materials.

The expansive grounds also include a garden filled with a variety of plants, where four kinds of large cherry trees bloom in spring. The flowers usually bloom from late March to around mid-April. On the east side of the garden is also a plum grove with Approx. 60 red and white plum trees. Some begin blooming around late January, delighting visitors through late March. In autumn, bush clover can also be seen, making the scenery beautiful in every season.

The residence also serves as a venue for cultural events, hosting a variety of programs that make use of the estate’s historic setting. Ongoing events can be checked on the official website.
