Fujiko F. Fujio was the manga artist behind Doraemon and many other works. At this art gallery in Takaoka, where he spent his childhood, visitors can explore his journey as a manga artist through an extensive collection of materials and discover the appeal of his work.

The gallery displays rare items found only here, including every page of Yokai Island, a hand-drawn manga booklet believed to have been created when Fujiko was 14, original artwork from numerous titles, and personal belongings. His creative activities in Takaoka and his career as a manga artist after moving to Tokyo are presented alongside his works. Other features for fans include themed special exhibitions, screenings of an original short film, and a museum shop selling exclusive merchandise.

Photography is prohibited inside the galleries, but there are designated areas where photos are permitted, including the Anywhere Door at the exhibition room entrance and a Doraemon statue made using Takaoka copperware, a traditional local craft. Be sure to take a photo to remember your visit.
