BudoonoMori “Nyanko no Sable in Kanazawa”

This is one of the products in the “Nyanko Tora” sweets brand series by BudoonoMori, a confectionery shop in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture. Released on Cat Day in 2018, it has become a popular new Kanazawa souvenir thanks to its adorable cat-inspired shape. The main character, Tora, is a 9-year-old male cat born in Noto and raised in Kanazawa. His territory stretches across a wide area from Kanazawa Station to Higashiyama.

“Nyanko no Sable in Kanazawa” is a butter sable made with a simple dough featuring Noto salt as a hidden flavor, decorated with a lightly bitter chocolate dough pattern, and baked to a fragrant finish. Its rounded cat-back silhouette makes it especially charming.

Another highlight is that it comes in three boxed options, 3 pieces, 5 pieces, and 10 pieces, and can also be purchased individually. The boxed sets come with each cookie individually wrapped, making them perfect for sharing as souvenirs.
