This long-established ryokan, with over 90 years of history, stands in Harazuru Onsen, long known as Fukuoka’s inner retreat. The hot spring, which once soothed the fatigue of local villagers, became famous for the belief that soaking in it could prolong life, and came to be known as the “Hot Spring of Life.” It was named “Enmeikan” based on the founder’s wish that this place would always remain a place of relaxation for everyone and always be the Hot Spring of Life.

Containing three components, alkaline, sulfur, and carbonic acid, it has drawn attention as a “triple skin-beautifying hot spring.” Another highlight is that you can fully enjoy 100% natural free-flowing hot spring water from the source. In the open-air bath overlooking the Chikugo River, you can soak in the water in a wonderfully open setting. There are also two types of private family baths, a ceramic bath and an earthen bath, where you can enjoy a relaxing private time.

All 15 guest rooms offer views of the majestic Chikugo River. The sunset sinking over the Chikugo River in the evening is a must-see. The rooms include three types of Japanese-style rooms, 6-tatami, 10-tatami, and 12-tatami, as well as Japanese-Western rooms with both Western-style space and tatami flooring.

Be sure to take your time savoring the Japanese-Western fusion cuisine made with seasonal ingredients from Kyushu and Fukuoka.
