Kobe Suma Sea World

An aquarium where you can watch orcas and dolphins up close.

Last update :

Kobe Suma Sea World had its grand opening in June 2024 on the former site of Kobe Municipal Suma Aqualife Park, affectionately known as “Sumasui” for 35 years. The facility consists of three buildings, Orca Stadium, Dolphin Stadium, and Aqua Live, and displays around 560 species and 19,000 living creatures.

The biggest highlight is the only orca performance in the Kansai region. You can watch the dynamic jumps of these “kings of the sea” and their perfectly synchronized performances with trainers up close. There is also the Blue Ocean Orca Stadium restaurant, where you can enjoy a meal while looking out at the orcas.

At Dolphin Stadium, the fast-paced and perfectly synchronized dolphin performances are truly exciting. At the adjacent Dolphin Beach, hands-on programs where you can interact with dolphins are also available. In addition, the Local Life area of Aqua Live, themed around “the life of water,” features exhibits recreating the original scenery of the Seto Inland Sea, where you can take your time observing the diverse and fascinating behavior of its creatures.

There is also a shop inside the aquarium selling original goods, perfect for souvenirs.
