Last update :

Located just east of JR Iyo-Saijo Station, this tourist facility features historical railway-related exhibits along with a tourist information center. It is made up of four buildings: the Shikoku Railway Cultural Museum North Hall, the Shikoku Railway Cultural Museum South Hall, the Shinji Sogo Memorial Museum, and the Tourism Exchange Center.

The Shikoku Railway Cultural Museum displays six railway cars and related items, including vehicles once used in Shikoku such as the first-generation 0 Series Shinkansen and the No. 1 JNR DF50 diesel locomotive. The driver's cabs of the 0 Series Shinkansen and the DF50 are always open to visitors, and you can even sit in the driver's seat. There is also a large railway diorama, model trains, and a recreated old-fashioned station building, making it enjoyable for everyone from children to dedicated rail fans.

The Shinji Sogo Memorial Museum introduces the achievements of Shinji Sogo, known as the father of the Shinkansen, and also lets visitors learn about his life and his passion for building high-speed railways. The Tourism Exchange Center provides sightseeing information and local area guidance, and also has shops selling local specialties, souvenirs, and railway goods.
