Taihaku-san Nature Observation Forest
Connect with nature and feel at ease while experiencing the forest through all five senses.
Nature observation trails are set within an approx. 30-hectare site, making this a comfortable place for people of all ages to enjoy nature. Since the facility is designed for nature observation, visitors should simply view and enjoy the wildlife and plants on site.
With advance reservation, families and groups of friends can enjoy a nature guide led by a ranger (nature observation instructor). (Japanese only)
In spring, the songs of many wild birds and the colors of budding flowers and grasses are especially beautiful. In summer, visitors can enjoy breezes moving through the shade and encounters with insects in the lush forest.
In fall, the leaves change color, making it a great season to see the forest glow in red and yellow. Take a relaxed walk along the forest paths while looking for tree nuts and grass seeds.
The latest topics, including plant blooming times and events, are updated regularly on the official website of the Sendai City Park Greenery Association.
