Janohire Outdoor Resort Dolphin Arch Awaji
A fun interactive facility where you can touch dolphins and even swim with them.
This interactive facility on Awaji Island lets visitors enjoy seeing dolphins living naturally up close. In April 2026, the entire dolphin care area was renovated, creating a more comfortable environment for both dolphins and visitors.
A wide range of programs is available, including Dolphin View, where you can take your time observing dolphins from a pier in the care area, and Buddy Touch, a hands-on experience with sign-based communication and handshakes. Programs that let you wear a wetsuit and spend time in the water with dolphins are especially popular, with the limited-time Dolphin Power Swim, where you can hold onto a dolphin’s fin and swim together, drawing particular attention (late May to mid-July). Experiences other than Dolphin View require advance reservations.
The facility is located within a combined outdoor resort at the southernmost tip of Awaji Island. Surrounded by the rich natural beauty of Fukura Bay, visitors can enjoy a full range of outdoor activities, including camping, fishing, and marine sports.
