Kappa no Yado Ryokan Sanjiro

A hot spring inn where you can enjoy spectacular views of the Zao Mountain Range and abundant free-flowing hot spring water.

Last update :

Togatta Onsen in Miyagi Prefecture has a 400-year history, with records showing it flourished as a hot spring health retreat during the Edo period. Ryokan Sanjiro stands on a small hill in the hot spring town, offering 230-degree panoramic views of the Zao Mountain Range.

There are 12 baths where guests can enjoy high-quality, abundant free-flowing hot spring water, including the main building’s large public bath and four types of private baths. The hot spring facility Yunosato, which has large public baths with scenic open-air baths offering beautiful views of the Zao mountains for both men and women, is also available for day-use bathing.

Guest rooms feature a refined, tranquil, traditional Japanese atmosphere. Some rooms were renovated in April 2025, introducing a Sukiya-style detached room with a free-flowing hot spring bath and Japanese-Western rooms with double beds designed for quality sleep.

Dinner is served in fully private dining rooms filled with the warmth of wood. Meals feature carefully selected local ingredients, including fresh seafood, vegetables, and rice delivered directly from the market every morning. The head chef showcases seasonal flavors in each dish.
