Spread across Tatsunokuchi Kyuryo Park in Nomi City, Ishikawa Prefecture, Ishikawa Zoo is surrounded by abundant nature. Opened in 1999, it continues to develop facilities that are friendly to people, animals, and the environment under the concept of a “fun, playful, and educational zoo.” Across the expansive grounds, exhibits make use of the natural terrain and vegetation, allowing visitors to observe a wide variety of animals in spaces that recreate their natural habitats.

In the popular “Valley of the Cats” area, visitors can observe lions, snow leopards, and white tigers with beautiful white coats from an impressive close range. At “Sea of Sea Lions and Seals,” you can enjoy views of sea lions and seals swimming in a large pool from various angles above and below. Other popular areas include “Fureai Hiroba,” where visitors can interact with small animals, and “Bird Street,” which exhibits a wide variety of birds.

The zoo also offers extensive barrier-free design, making it comfortable for families and older visitors to explore. With a restaurant, a large rest facility with a floor area of Approx. 333 m², and other well-equipped amenities, it is one of Hokuriku’s leading zoos.
