Relocated and newly opened in 2022, this modern library centers on a grand reading space that feels like a circular theater. Visitors can enjoy not only reading, but also a wide range of activities, including exhibitions and workshops.

Its most distinctive feature is the Great Hall, a large reading space that opens out like a circular theater. Circular bookshelves surround the four-story atrium, displaying Approx. 80,000 books in an easy-to-browse layout for a reading experience that feels a bit like window shopping.

The library is made up of two areas: the Reading Area and the Cultural Exchange Area. In addition to reading, it supports a wide variety of activities, including exhibitions, workshops, cooking classes, and hands-on making experiences. Spaces equipped with 3D printers and a kitchen studio are also available, creating new opportunities for learning and interaction across generations.

The building is also highly regarded for its architecture, with an impressive exterior inspired by the motion of turning the pages of a book and a warm interior design that makes extensive use of wood. Inside, there are Approx. 500 varied reading seats, each offering its own distinct comfort. As a “stay-style library” that visitors can drop by casually like a park, it has become a new landmark in Ishikawa.
