KAI Enshu

This hot spring inn on the shores of Lake Hamana in Shizuoka offers many ways to experience the prefecture's tea culture, including an on-site tea garden and regular programs on brewing and appreciating sencha green tea.

The hot springs contain highly saline chloride water known for retaining warmth. The inn has several distinctive bathing areas, including Koto no Yu, with an indoor cypress-scented bath and an open-air bath, and Hana no Yu, where a basket filled with tea leaves floats in a large tub. After bathing, replenish your minerals with a drink and quietly cool off while admiring the surrounding natural scenery.

Meals served with seasonal views of the lakeshore feature kaiseki cuisine centered on Hamamatsu specialties such as eel and fugu pufferfish. In fall and winter, a special kaiseki meal showcases torafugu, considered the finest variety of fugu.
